I have read and recommended a lot of helpful books over the years. But, there are some books that stand out among the many. Books that have impacted me both professionally and personally. And books that I feel may be very helpful in your journey towards hope and healing. I may not agree with every point of each book, but the concepts or encouragement within these books could prove helpful. Each book below provides a link to it’s page.

Love Sense by Dr. Sue Johnson

Want to know the latest science on attachment in committed relationships? This book is it.












Tapping In by Dr. Laurel Parnell

The advances of EMDR are amazing and Dr. Parnell brings out how the bilateral stimulation components of EMDR can be used everyday in your journey.












The War of Art by Steven Pressfield

The Body Keeps the Score: Brain, Mind, and Body in the Healing of Trauma by Dr. Bessel van der Kolk

Hands down the best book modern book on trauma and the the best overview of the latest treatments for trauma and PTSD.












Healing Trauma by Dr. Peter A. Levine

No matter if you are dealing with trauma related difficulties or other mood or relational struggles, the exercises in the this book by the founder of Somatic Experiencing Therapy are life giving. The paperback edition comes with a CD to help guide you through the exercises.












Your Sexually Addicted Spouse: How Partners Can Cope and Heal by Dr. Barbara Steffens and Marsha Means

This book, the first of it’s kind, gives understanding and hope to one of the most devastating wounds I’ve ever encountered in my practice: partner betrayal trauma.












Attached by Dr. Amir Levine and Rachel Heller

Excellent book on identifying your attachment style within your relationships.












Wired For Love by Dr. Stan Tatkin

Fresh take on couple’s attachment and connection.
